Cathy Dart Pyschology
Cathy is an experienced psychologist who has worked for 20 years in a variety of mental health settings. She has now been in private practice for 8 years. Prior to this Cathy worked in the inpatient and outpatient psychology services of a private psychiatric facility for 10 years and 4 years as a new graduate working in a community based mental health service. Working from a cognitive-behavioural perspective, and incorporating principles of mindfulness and motivational interviewing, Cathy has extensive experience working with adults who present with a range of psychological difficulties including anxiety, depression, personality disorders, psychosis, schizophrenia, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Cathy has specialised in the recovery and rehabilitation of patients with eating disorders. She has also worked intensively with individuals and families at risk of or affected by Huntington’s Disease and other neurological disorders. Her practice and philosophy reflects a progressive and innovative attitude to optimal client outcomes, maximising resources and potential for development, recovery and management.
